A natural ability to connect with people

With a background in teaching and a natural ability to connect with people, Elizabeth brings patience, empathy and an important understanding of the need to treat her home care customers as individuals.

Since joining the team in September 2026, she says she has valued the warm welcome, practical guidance and shared commitment to making a positive difference in customers’ lives.

Originally from Nigeria, Elizabeth studied History and International Studies at the University of Ilorin before beginning her career as a teacher. Supporting students with different needs helped her to learn to build positive relationships, listen carefully and help people feel values – qualities that now shape her approach to care.

Even though she has only been with Caremark Leeds a short while, Elizabeth describes her experience so far as “wonderful”, saying the training, guidance and support from the team has helped her make a confident transition into care.

Putting smiles on customers’ faces

“I especially appreciate Caremark’s focus on both putting a smile on customers’ faces and ensuring that staff feel valued, supported and comfortable in their roles,” she says.

Elizabeth has found her customers warm and welcoming, adding: “From my first visits, they made me feel at ease and I am enjoying getting to know each person and understanding their individual needs, preferences and personalities.”

New opportunities to connect with people

Outside work and her studies (she is currently undertaking a Master of Research (MRes) in Leadership and Management), Elizabeth enjoys fashion, modelling and content creation. She says she loves expressing herself through fashion and storytelling, designing clothes and developing ideas that bring African prints, colour and creativity to life.

Elizabeth also enjoys meeting people and trying new experiences.

“Living in the UK has given me opportunities to connect with people from different backgrounds, learn from their experiences and discover new things,” she adds.

“The combination of creativity, people and continuous learning is what keeps me inspired.”
