Caremark Coventry Achieves the Coventry City Council Workplace Wellbeing Award

We are delighted to announce that Caremark Coventry has officially been awarded the Workplace Wellbeing Award by Coventry City Council. This award recognises our commitment to creating a healthy, supportive and inclusive workplace for all of our employees.

This achievement marks an important milestone in our journey towards building a culture where employee wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. In addition, it demonstrates our belief that when we invest in the wellbeing of our team, we strengthen the quality of care we provide to the people who rely on our services every day.

A Journey of Continuous Improvement

Our wellbeing journey began with the Starting Steps Award, which recognised our commitment to establishing strong foundations for workplace wellbeing. However, rather than seeing this as the finish line, we viewed it as the beginning of an ongoing commitment to improving the experience of every member of our team.

Over the following months, we worked closely with Coventry City Council’s Workplace Wellbeing programme. We reviewed our practices, identified opportunities for improvement, and embedded wellbeing into our organisational culture.

Receiving the full Workplace Wellbeing Award is recognition of the progress we have made and the dedication shown by everyone across the organisation.

More Than Award

The Workplace Wellbeing Award celebrates organisations that actively promote physical health, mental wellbeing, equality, inclusion and positive workplace practices. It encourages employers to create environments where people feel supported, respected and able to achieve their full potential.

Throughout the programme, Caremark Coventry introduced and strengthened a range of initiatives designed to support colleagues, including:

• Increased awareness and support for mental health and wellbeing.
• Enhanced communication between managers and employees.
• Greater focus on work-life balance.
• Development of Health & Wellbeing Champions within the organisation.
• New wellbeing resources and guidance for all staff.
• Continued investment in learning, development and leadership.

These improvements have helped create a workplace where wellbeing is no longer viewed as an initiative. Instead, it is an integral part of our everyday culture.

A Positive Change in Our Culture

Working towards the award has had a lasting impact across the organisation.

Managers have developed greater confidence in supporting their teams, and conversations around wellbeing have become more open and constructive. Furthermore, employees know their voices are heard. We have created an environment where colleagues feel respected, valued and empowered to seek support whenever they need it.

As a care provider, we understand that exceptional care begins with exceptional people. Supporting our employees’ wellbeing enables them to continue delivering compassionate, person-centred care to our customers throughout Coventry and Warwickshire.

A Team Effort

The Workplace Wellbeing Award was very much a team achievement.

The project was led by Patryk Ksiazek, Assistant Manager, who coordinated the programme and implemented the required improvements. He also worked closely with colleagues throughout the assessment process.

Patryk was supported every step of the way by the entire Caremark Coventry team. Particular thanks go to Sunjay Majithia, Director, whose commitment to investing in staff wellbeing made many of the initiatives possible, and Sonia Edkins, Registered Care Manager, whose leadership, encouragement and dedication helped embed wellbeing into everyday practice.

This award reflects the collective effort of our managers, office staff and care professionals. All of them embraced the programme and contributed ideas, feedback and enthusiasm throughout the journey.

Looking Ahead

Although we are incredibly proud to receive the Workplace Wellbeing Award, we see this as another milestone rather than a destination.

We remain committed to continuously improving the wellbeing of our employees by listening to our teams and investing in their development. We also ensure Caremark Coventry continues to be a workplace where people feel supported, appreciated and empowered to succeed.

Caremark Coventry would like to thank Coventry City Council for their guidance, encouragement and expertise throughout the programme. Their support has helped us strengthen our organisational culture and build a healthier, happier workplace for everyone.

As we continue to grow and support more people across Coventry and Warwickshire, we will remain committed to ensuring that the wellbeing of our employees stays at the centre of everything we do.
