Fish n Chips, Yorkshire Pudding, York Minster, Yorkshire Tea- All things Yorkshire
Yorkshire Day, celebrated on the 1st August, is a day to remember and celebrate, the largest county in the UK, Yorkshire. Originating as a military holiday, its roots stem from a few things, including the emancipation of slaves in 1834, a few military customs and some protests about losing the cultural identity of Yorkshire.
A large percentage of the population celebrate Yorkshire day in a way similar to many other celebrations; it started small and now has a minor culture behind the celebration of the Day.
The celebration of Yorkshire Day is central to the belief and custom of maintaining locals traditions and culture during a time of upheaval. A celebration started with just a reading, but now, fast forward to 2022 – this day encompasses anything to do with Yorkshire, from cooking and confectionery delights to history and military customs.
We will be celebrating Yorkshire Day in the Caremark Rotherham & Sheffield Office by having an Afternoon Tea style lunch! Scones, Cakes, Cups of Yorkshire Tea and anything else we can think of to celebrate our lovely County! Why not come and join us for a scone and a Cuppa?
