Caremark Pulborough & Horsham steps up for the Horsham Matters Sponsored Walk 2026

On Saturday 19 September, Martin and Kirsty laced up their walking boots and joined the Horsham Matters Sponsored Walk 2026. The event raised funds for a fantastic local charity while showcasing some of the beautiful countryside West Sussex has to offer.

The 20km charity challenge formed part of Horsham Matters’ 20th anniversary celebrations. It brought together local businesses, community groups, families and individuals with one shared goal: supporting people across the Horsham District who face hardship and poverty.

Participants walked from Amberley through the South Downs and Pulborough Brooks before finishing in Pulborough. Experienced guides led the route, while volunteers provided support throughout the day.

Supporting a worthy cause in Horsham

At Caremark Pulborough & Horsham, community sits at the heart of everything we do. As a home care provider supporting customers across Horsham, Pulborough and surrounding villages, we see the positive impact local charities make every day.

Horsham Matters delivers vital services, including food banks, community cafés and budgeting advice. The charity also supports local families facing financial difficulties. Taking part in the Horsham Matters sponsored walk 2026 gave us the opportunity to raise funds, increase awareness and support a charity that does so much for our community.

A fantastic day across the South Downs

The route covered approximately 20 kilometres of stunning West Sussex countryside. Walkers enjoyed breathtaking South Downs views, spotted local wildlife and experienced the natural beauty of Pulborough Brooks before reaching the finish line.

Although the distance challenged our legs, the incredible atmosphere kept everyone motivated. Participants encouraged one another throughout the day, creating a strong sense of teamwork and community spirit.

The event also provided the perfect chance to meet new people, catch up with familiar faces and celebrate a shared commitment to local causes.

Teamwork beyond the workplace

Events like the Horsham Matters Sponsored Walk show that teamwork extends far beyond the workplace. Spending the day together outside our usual roles allowed us to relax, support one another and enjoy a rewarding challenge as a team.

Whether we were climbing a steep hill, sharing snacks at a checkpoint or crossing the finish line together, every step reflected the values that guide our work each day: compassion, support and community.
