Home is where the heart is

Home is where the heart is. For Norma Tyler, that means the bungalow in Mansfield where she lives happily and has for many years.

That was in doubt after a series of falls led to Norma going intohospital. The mobility issues that resulted meant she was not going to be able to return home without help.

Now Caremark Mansfield & Ashfield call four times a day. This, along with regular visits from her son, ensures Norma can stay in her home.

“I didn’t want to leave my bungalow, it was very important to me that I could live here and now thanks to Caremark and my son I am able to,” said Norma, 84.

Caremark are brilliant

Norma had previously been using another care company but was unhappy with them and so she switched to Caremark.

“I’ve been with Caremark for two years and they are brilliant,” said Norma. “We have good chats, they are kind and listen to how I like things done.”

Carers help Norma to get up in a morning, washed, dressed and make breakfast. They return at lunch and tea-time and then finally to help her get to bed.

“They help me take a shower every morning and it makes such a difference to have a good wash and be ready for the day,” said Norma.

Her son welcomes our support

Once settled in her chair, Norma likes nothing better than settling down to enjoy a good film or the soaps, because that to her is heaven.

Her son visits most days and a weekly highlight is the Sunday roast he cooks.

“It re-assures him to know that Caremark are visiting me regularly and I look forward to them coming,” said Norma.
