Delivering an outstanding level of care

Caremark Mansfield & Ashfield has been recognised by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for delivering an ‘outstanding’ level of care for the people we support.
Following a comprehensive assessment by the (CQC), we received an overall rating of Good. However, we received an Outstanding rating in the Caring category.
Inspectors praised the service for going “above and beyond” in supporting people to live independently, safely, and with dignity. Additionally, the report highlighted the team’s strong culture of kindness. It also emphasised the quality of relationships between care staff and client. Furthermore, it noted the organisation’s dedication to ensuring every individual feels valued and respected.
“We are absolutely thrilled to receive an outstanding rating for caring and to have scored 95 out of 100 in this particular category,” said Simon Ford, Managing Director of Caremark Mansfield & Ashfield.

This recognition from the CQC is a testament to their professionalism and genuine care.”

A transparent, open culture
The CQC inspection (the first since 2018) was conducted between 21st May and 3rd June and included interviews with staff and some of Caremark Mansfield & Ashfield’s 100-plus customers.
The key findings were:
- A transparent, open culture ensured people felt confident raising concerns, knowing they would be addressed appropriately.
- Care was consistently person‑centred, safe, and responsive, with staff tailoring support to each individual’s needs, preferences, and goals.
- Independence was actively promoted, with staff helping people maintain and develop skills and confidence.
- Care plans were holistic and regularly reviewed, developed in partnership with people, families, and professionals.
- Medicines were managed safely and effectively, with robust systems in place to reduce risk.
- Quality monitoring was strong, with regular audits, feedback loops, and clear action plans driving continuous improvement.
- People reported highly positive experiences, describing staff as kind, compassionate, respectful, reliable, and punctual.
Rooted in person-centred care

Caremark Mansfield & Ashfield, which has a head office in Sutton-in-Ashfield and employs just over 100 people, supports people across the local community with a wide range of home care services, including personal care, companionship, medication support, and specialist assistance tailored to individual needs. It also recently launched a new service supporting people with complex care needs.
