Professional home care experience

As a carer at Caremark Kirklees, Gracious Muleya brings not only professional home care experience. She also brings a deep‑rooted passion for care shaped by her background as a trained nurse in her home country of Zimbabwe.

Her journey into social care began in 2022 when she moved to the UK specifically to work as a carer in homecare. Her care approach is informed by her clinical background. However, she is quick to acknowledge the importance of adapting to different methods and training.

After gaining home‑care experience with other providers, Gracious joined Caremark Kirklees in 2025

Gracious

Grace values our respectful, family-friendly culture

She says she particularly values our respectful, family-friendly culture which is important to her a single mum of a teenager.

“Here you are given your rota for two weeks and you are notified quickly if anything changes,” she says.

“This consistency gives me the ability to plan life as a single parent, something that was not possible at my previous company.

“And there’s never an issue if we have to go to appointments, they are always very flexible and accommodating.”

Good positive relationships with customers

Gracious has built good positive relationships with the people she supports and says she is really enjoying her work at Caremark.

Outside of work, Gracious’s world revolves around her 14‑year‑old son, who has settled well into school life in the UK. Although she loves travelling, she says her son prefers shopping, games and movies. As a result, her leisure time often has to adapt to his ‘needs’.
