The winning team at the event at Calcot Golf Course, was Tom Ryan (husband of Reading Group volunteer Natasha), Mark Neary, Gary Andrews and Bernard Andrews. Each was awarded Pro Golf Balls, donated from the Calcot Golf Shop along with wine donated from Andrew Lambourne of Rationel Windows.

The second place team was Kevin Iley, David Holloway, David Little and Steve Wright, who also received donated prizes. Winners of the Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive competitions were Gary Andrews and Mike Stillman respectively.

Linda Downey, chair of the Reading Group, said: “The day was another amazing success. I am overwhelmed by the generosity of the players and the members at Calcot Golf Club, along with our wonderful sponsors, without whom we could not raise these vital funds to support the fantastic work that Cancer Research UK undertake in it’s bid to beat cancer. My fellow volunteers, Stephen King, Jacqui Harrington, Francesca Downey, Natasha Ryan and Laura Green all worked tirelessly ahead of and during the day, it is a joy to be part of a group with such lovely people.”
