Rob Driscoll nominated for top Care Award!

Home Care Awards
We are nominating our care assistant, Rob Driscoll, for the annual Home Care Awards “Most Outstanding Individual in Home Care” for his continuous care and support for our customer, GB, for over 8 years.
GB is a highly intelligent 60 year old man, who had a serious car accident some 30 years ago, resulting in an acquired brain injury, leaving him unable to talk, and having to use a wheelchair.
Outstanding care
Rob has visited GB for 2-4 full days per week, including overnight every other weekend, for over 8 years. Rob supports GB with physical exercises, working alongside physios, personal care, meal preparation and playing board games – he particularly likes Scrabble! Rob also takes GB on visits to the theatre, cinema, museums, art galleries, restaurants, parks and trips to the countryside. This is such a vital part of GB’s care as it helps him access and feel part of his local community. Rob has also accompanied GB on holidays abroad.
Rob has had a huge positive impact on GB and has helped to improve his quality of life immeasurably. Both GB’s mental health and his physical wellbeing has improved greatly due to Rob’s wonderful care. Prone to bouts of depression, GB has benefited massively from Rob’s encouragement and motivation.
GB’s case manager and main live in carer have commented: “Rob has been part of GB’s care team for over 8 years and during that time he’s become completely indispensable. He is always cheerful and wonderful with GB, who does not always feel very cooperative! We’re extremely lucky to have him!”
