Disability

Caremark Redcar and Cleveland has been recognised for its inclusivity.

We have achieved Level 2 ‘Disability Confident Employer’ status under the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme.

This recognises our commitment to:

  • an inclusive and accessible recruitment process
  • communicating and promoting vacancies
  • offering an interview to disabled people
  • providing reasonable adjustments as required
  • supporting any existing employee who acquires a disability or long-term health condition, enabling them to stay in work
  • making a difference for disabled people

Two examples of how Caremark Redcar and Cleveland has been able to demonstrate its commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace are ensuring people with autism are offered a set, structured routine and enabling people with dyslexia to be able to record notes, rather than writing them.

Managing Director Michelle Jackson said: “We are delighted to have achieved a Level 2 in the Disability Confident scheme, at our first attempt.

“Caremark Redcar and Cleveland believes strongly in creating an all-inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and succeed, regardless of any personal circumstance.

“There should be no barriers to working in care and we are committed to ensuring even more people get the opportunity to progress their careers with us.”
