It had to be them
“I think so much of this company that when my husband’s grandmother needed care to help her remain at home as long as possible, I just knew it had to be them providing this care.”
That perfectly sums up why Chloe Holmes feels at home working for Caremark Mansfield, or her “baby” as she refers to the company.
A Yorkshire ‘lass’ through and through, Chloe joined Caremark in January 2020, just a few months before the current owners Joanne and Simon Ford took over the company.
She was a Field Care Supervisor at the time and having seen the way Chloe responded during the subsequent pandemic, Joanne and Simon realised she had potential and were keen to support her professional development.
This has resulted in several promotions, including senior Field Care Supervisor and Assistant Care Manager and now our Care Manager, exactly four years since joining Caremark.
Chloe’s care journey began at the tender age of 17. Having had a great bond with her grandmother and caring for her, she got a job in homecare and would get to her customers on motorbike as she didn’t have her driving licence at the time.
She then moved into residential care and trained in end-of-life care, something she is passionate about.
But it was upon returning to homecare with Caremark that her professional career really began to take off.
Chloe says: “Because Simon and Joanne had only just taken over at Caremark, I was given a lot of responsibility, including providing staff training and mentoring and writing the care plans for our customers.
“I relished this responsibility and went from strength to strength and Simon and Joanne have been fantastic in supporting my development.
“Caremark has become baby because I have played a part in helping to build it from the ground up and the fact I only wanted my husband’s grandmother to receive care from one company, ours, says it all.”
Chloe is currently studying for her Level 5 in Leadership and Management and is excited about what the future holds for her and Caremark.
“I adore working here,” she says.
“We have an amazing team with great morale and get phenomenal support from Joanne and Simon.
“It’s a very family-oriented company which values staff and that means a lot.”
When she’s not working, Chloe enjoys spending time with her husband, their two young daughters and their Daschund dog. She also looks forward to visiting her family in Yorkshire and socialising with her friends.
