Running the London Marathon for Teenage Cancer Trust is a challenge that Caremark Epsom, Ewell, Reigate & Banstead Director and Registered Manager, Hannah Drury, has proudly taken on for next April. Hannah will be tackling the iconic 26.2-mile London Marathon to raise vital funds for Teenage Cancer Trust, helping the charity continue its incredible work supporting young people diagnosed with cancer.

For Hannah, this isn’t just another fundraising challenge. It’s an opportunity to give back to a charity that supported her own family during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

Running the London Marathon for Teenage Cancer Trust

As a home care provider supporting people across Epsom, Ewell, Banstead, Reigate and the surrounding Surrey communities, Caremark believes in making a difference both inside and outside our customers’ homes. This challenge reflects the compassion, dedication and community spirit that our team brings to every person we support.

Why Hannah Is Running the London Marathon for Teenage Cancer Trust

For Hannah, this challenge is deeply personal.

When Hannah was younger, her sister Chloë was diagnosed with cancer as a teenager. During her treatment, Chloë was able to spend valuable time at home with the support of dedicated care professionals, allowing her to remain in familiar surroundings with the people she loved most. Throughout her cancer journey, Teenage Cancer Trust also provided specialist support, helping Chloë and the whole family through an incredibly challenging time.

Witnessing the compassion, dignity and reassurance that home care provided had a lasting impact on Hannah. Seeing first-hand how much it meant for her sister to be cared for at home inspired her own career in care.

Today, as Director and Registered Manager of Caremark Epsom, Ewell, Reigate & Banstead, Hannah is passionate about helping people remain safe, independent and comfortable in their own homes, delivering the same compassion that meant so much to her own family.

Now, running the London Marathon for Teenage Cancer Trust is Hannah’s way of saying thank you. Every mile she runs is in recognition of the support her family received and to help ensure that other young people facing cancer receive the same specialist care, encouragement and hope.

“Watching my sister go through cancer changed my life. The support our family received, both at home and through Teenage Cancer Trust, showed me just how important compassionate care can be. Running the London Marathon is my way of giving something back to a charity that means so much to us.”

Training for 26.2 Miles

Preparing for the London Marathon is no small task.

Alongside leading Caremark Epsom, Ewell, Reigate & Banstead, supporting customers and families, managing an incredible care team and balancing family life, Hannah will be spending the coming months training for one of the world’s most famous races.

Early mornings, long training runs and strength sessions will all become part of everyday life.

Like every marathon runner, there will be challenges along the way, but knowing that every mile helps raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust will make every step worthwhile.

We’ll be sharing Hannah’s training journey, fundraising milestones and marathon updates over the coming months, and we hope our local community will follow along.

Why Teenage Cancer Trust?

Every day, seven young people in the UK hear the words, “You have cancer.”

Teenage Cancer Trust exists to ensure they don’t face that journey alone.

The charity funds specialist nurses, youth workers and dedicated hospital units while providing emotional and practical support for young people aged 13 to 24 and their families throughout treatment and recovery.

Every donation helps make these life-changing services possible.

It’s about honouring her family’s journey, raising awareness of the incredible work Teenage Cancer Trust carries out every day and giving something back to a charity that helped shape the person she is today.
