Free Coffee Mornings and Chair-Based Exercises 2025 dates
Why not join us at one or more of our free chair-based exercise classes? After the exercises, we have a drink, eat some cake and catch up – is there a better way to spend your Thursday morning? See below for the dates…
At Caremark Cheltenham & Gloucester, we strongly believe in fostering connections within our local community. To help combat loneliness, we have introduced monthly free coffee mornings. These provide a welcoming space for individuals to meet, socialise, and find support.

Also, to help others understand the importance of maintaining an active and independent lifestyle, we have launched adult chair-based exercise classes. These are led by our Care Manager, Jo Folkes, a registered physiotherapist and run alongside our coffee mornings. Thus ensuring that older adults have the opportunity to stay active in a safe and supportive environment.
What are the benefits of chair-based exercises?
- Feel more energetic and less dizzy.
- Stimulates circulation to all organs including the brain.
- Aids circulation and helps blood and body fluids to move.
- Prevents ankle swelling, blood clots, leg ulcers and foot pain.

Who are our free exercise classes for?
Do you have a loved one that would enjoy some companionship? Certainly everyone is welcome to this free event where we will provide an experienced physiotherapist running the exercise class followed by a hot drink, cake and some games.
Presently, loneliness in older people is a common issue that can have significant impacts on their physical and mental well-being. In Gloucestershire, like many other areas, older individuals can experience loneliness due to factors such as isolation, loss of friends or family members, health issues that limit their social interactions, lack of transportation, or living alone.
So come along, have a natter, maybe make some new friends in your local area.
We will also have information available if you are interested in working in the care sector.
