Rewarding career
Aneeta Cicil has swapped studying plants for what she says is a much more rewarding career caring for people in their own homes.
Whilst Aneeta was studying for a degree in botany in her home country of India, she also took a part-time job working in care.
That gave her an insight into life as a carer, so when she had the opportunity to join Caremark Wakefield on an overseas sponsorship, she didn’t hesitate.
“I always hoped to work abroad one day and so this role was perfect because I enjoyed working as a carer and I am now able to do this in a completely new country.”
Even swapping the sunny shores of Kerala for the less sunny shores of Wakefield hasn’t phased Aneeta, in fact she says she even enjoys the cold.
Aneeta says: “I love my job. It’s great being able to drive around the area meeting and supporting our customers and everyone has been really kind to me.
“They all have different needs and stories to share and it’s nice to chat with them and to help them in their home.
“It’s much better than botany!”
When she’s not working, Aneeta enjoys cooking and spending time with her friends and family.
