Volunteering, Community, and Connection: Joining Age UK Solihull
At Caremark Solihull, we’ve always believed that great care goes beyond the doorstep. As a proud provider of Home Care in Solihull for over 12 years, we know how important community connections are. This is especially true for older adults who may live alone or feel isolated. That’s why we joined Age UK in Solihull this week for their monthly Over 65s Lunch Club.
Our Managing Director, Herkesh, and this week’s enthusiastic work experience student, Lilly, rolled up their sleeves and volunteered their time. It was indeed a lovely afternoon!

A Special Monthly Tradition with Age UK Solihull
The Age UK Solihull Over 65s Lunch Club is more than just a meal — it’s a lifeline of friendship and joy for many older people in our area. Held on the first Tuesday of each month, the club brings people together to enjoy good food, a cuppa, laughter, and shared stories. For those receiving Home Care in Solihull, events like this offer a rare and wonderful chance to socialise. Also, they can build friendships and feel truly part of a community.
This week’s event was filled with warm smiles, lively conversation, and a welcoming atmosphere that instantly made everyone feel at home. Guests enjoyed a tasty lunch, followed by fun activities and a good old-fashioned chat. These moments of connection remind us all how important they really are.
Caremark Solihull: Proud to Support Our Community
As a local care provider, volunteering with Age UK in Solihull felt like a natural extension of the work we do every day. Our mission has always been to improve lives — not only through our Home Care in Solihull. We also aim to strengthen the social fabric that keeps our community thriving.
“Our values as a care provider go beyond practical support,” said Herkesh, Managing Director at Caremark Solihull. He believes that being involved with local organisations like Age UK Solihull allows them to give something back. It helps them understand even more deeply what matters to the people they care for.
For Lilly, our bright and motivated work experience student, the day was a chance to see the power of community care in action. It was lovely for her to meet so many people and see the joy this event brings. She said, “It really showed me how important companionship and social time are for older people.”
