Another Caremark success story • Caremark

Rio, our wonderful customer, enjoys spending time doing his home-schooling activities with his Mum and his regular Support Worker’s.

Rio has received support from Caremark since September 2022, he has had the same consistent support workers throughout this time and has built up a great professional working relationship with them. Rio has begun to trust them, loves spending time with them, and is motivated to take part in different activities that support his education and his day to day learning.

Background

Rio has a diagnosis of Autism, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) sleep disorder, restless leg syndrome, global sensory issue and Dyspraxia. He is also a strict vegetarian. Rio is currently not attending school, although one of his goals is to return to school. He is currently receiving home schooling lessons from his Mum, Jen. Rio enjoys reading books and comics, he attends the gym once a week with his Support Worker. Rio also enjoys spending time on his iPad and Nintendo switch.

Rio is consistently supported by his Support Worker on a 1:1 basis twice a week. Rio enjoys accessing the community with his Support Worker and is supported with his emotional and well-being needs to develop his independence.

Niamh (Rio’s sister) and I have had a delicious salad of spinach, curly lettuce and rocket with shop bought beetroot as our beetroots are still babies haha x from Jen’
