Exceptional care starts with the people who deliver it

At Caremark Rotherham & Sheffield, exceptional care starts with the people who deliver it. We are therefore pleased to share exciting news about changes to the structure of our management team – changes which will ensure continuity of service and support future growth.

Sharon Callan appointed Managing Director

Sharon was previously our Finance Director and was one of our very first Support Workers when she joined Caremark in 2011. Her 14 years’ industry experience, combined with her understanding of our service and commitment to the safe delivery of person-centred care, makes her perfect for her new role.

Sharon will focus on:

  • Quality first: maintaining strong governance, supervision and client-specific training and service delivery.
  • Continuity for families: stable teams, respectful rota practice and well-planned mobilisations that prioritise the needs and preferences of families.
  • Joined-up working: open, practical, “no surprises” communication with partners across social care, health, education and case management.

Sharon brings deep knowledge of our services and an unwavering commitment to delivering safe, person-centred care. She will continue to work across all areas of the business alongside our long standing and experienced management team. Sharon’s focus will remain on quality, continuity, and collaboration ensuring strong governance, consistent care for families, and open communication with partners across health, social care, education and case management.

Sharon said: “I’m proud and humbled to lead a service where every member of our team is empowered to give their very best. Our Support Workers are the backbone of our service, supported by a long-standing, highly experienced management team. We are all committed to delivering the very highest standards of care to our clients, families and professional partners.”

Terri Wall takes on Finance Officer role

Returning from maternity leave, Terri moves into a dedicated Finance Officer position, having previously held the combined Operations Officer role. Terri already has strong grounding in finance from her earlier remit and will focus on clean processes that make life simpler for managers and more reliable for staff (from rota-to-pay to timely billing).

Mark McKenning appointed Chief Executive Officer

To support the next phase of our development, Mark McKenning moves from Managing Director to Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mark will focus on strategy, external partnerships and reinforcing the culture and standards that underpin safe growth.

Why this matters for families and partners:

  • Stability: long-serving leaders and well-supported teams mean continuity of care and confident decision-making.
  • Reliability: clear roles, respectful communication and no shortcuts  the practices that hold under pressure.
  • Partnership working: steady points of contact and concise, timely updates for commissioners, case managers, solicitors and schools/colleges.

Speaking about the changes, Mark said: “Our success begins with the people in this organisation. These promotions recognise steady, values-led work and ensure families continue to receive the consistent, high-quality support they deserve.”

If you would like to speak with us about a package of support, mobilisation or partnership working, please get in touch with the team.
