pride

Every year, Pride Month is held in June to commemorate the Stonewall riots and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. The riots were important protests that changed LGBT rights for people in America and around the world. For LGBTQ+ people, Pride Month promotes their dignity, equal rights, self-affirmation, and it is a way of increasing society’s awareness of the issues they face.

It allows people to come together, to show how far LGBTQ+ rights have come and to raise awareness that there is still work to be done.

Here at Caremark Rotherham & Sheffield we are proud to state that we are an equal opportunities employer and we promote equality and diversity across our workforce.

Did You Know?

1. The first Pride march in New York City was held on June 28, 1970, on the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising.

2. In 1978, the most-recognized symbol of Gay Pride; the rainbow flag, made its debut at the San Francisco event.

If you are part of our team and also part of LGBTQI+, we are proud to have you in our team! Throughout June, we will be celebrating the LGBTQI+ community and would encourage everyone to get involved so that we can raise awareness!
