Celebrating Charlotte- Caremark’s Clinical Lead – #InternationalNurseDay2022
International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every 12th May, which is also the birthday of Florence Nightingale- the founder of Modern Nursing. We would like to use this day to celebrate our Clinical Lead, Charlotte Rowney.
Charlotte has an excellent Nursing background having worked at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital as a paediatric Nurse before joining our organisation.
Charlotte studied for her first degree in Environmental Biology at Nottingham university, she enjoyed the course but shortly after graduating she realised that she wanted a career which would challenge her but also be rewarding. Charlotte has always been very social, and loves being around people so she decided that she would apply to become a paediatric nurse at Sheffield Hallam university.
During training, Charlotte worked across several sites including Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Barnsley Hospital and Rotherham Hospital where she met some incredible professionals and built solid working relationships with professionals across the NHS. After she qualified, Charlotte began working at the Sheffield Children’s hospital working across ICU, HDU and the general medical ward. This gave her extensive experience working with children and young adults who had a variety of needs including tracheostomies, gastrostomies and ventilation.
Charlotte joined our team in Summer 2021 and has made the most positive contributions to our service and we are lucky and proud to have her as such an important part of our Senior team, she works closely with our Registered Care Manager and also with our Case Leaders to ensure the care and support we provide is tailored to meet our Clients’ clinical needs, helping them achieve their outcomes and goals and ensuring our staff are well trained and competent in their practice.
We would also like to mention Lee and Hannah, our long-standing staff members will remember both as our previous Clinical Leads, they also had some fantastic times with us and we would like to say a huge Thank You for their previous contributions to our organisation.
