100% score in a local authority audit

Feedback from our customers, families and staff has contributed to Caremark Redcar and Cleveland receiving a 100% score in a local authority quality audit.

We were assessed by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council against five key themes – care planning, customer experience, staff knowledge and understanding, staff training and recruitment, environment and leadership.

This involved looking at how we plan care for each customer, what the customers think of the service we provide, how staff feel about working for Caremark, how we keep and maintain files on staff, the quality of the environment we work in (including general health and safety), and how well led we are.

Each theme is given a score and we achieved the maximum total of 48 out of 48.

Really happy and engaged

As part of the assessment, a senior officer from Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, visited our Safe Place service and spoke to people who attend. He reported that everyone seemed “really happy and engaged well with staff”.

Several of the family members of our customers were also asked about their view of the service their loved ones receive.

One described Caremark as being “very considerate”, “personable” and commented on the “excellent” communication.

Another family member said: “Mum loves the staff and never has a bad word to say about anyone; the service is fantastic.”

Staff are always going the extra mile

And another family member commented on how staff are always going the extra mile.

Staff who were interviewed were also complimentary about working for Caremark.

One said she received “excellent support” from management, another commented on how she feels the company is “really good” at employing the right people and another said all her training needs are met.

We would like to thank everyone who took part in the assessment and rest assured that even though we achieved a maximum score, we will never rest on our laurels and are constantly seeking to improve further in all areas.
