Supporting young people into employment

Supporting young people into employment is something we have always been passionate about here at Caremark Kirklees and we were therefore recently delighted to be invited to an event celebrating the success of students from a local college.

We attended a special Employers Thank You Lunch by Kirklees College at The Manor House in Lindley to celebrate the achievements of their T level students.

It was such an honour to hear the stories of the students and hear how the T levels have given them such a great springboard into the world of employment.

We were particularly proud of Caremark Kirklees Care Assistant Lily Meadows who was one of the award winners. She has been on placement with us and is joining us full time ahead of pursuing her dream of becoming a paramedic in the future.

All the students spoke brilliantly and were an absolute credit to the college, which celebrates its 200th anniversary this year.

Partnership with Kirklees College

Our partnership with Kirklees College has resulted in us providing placements to students on the T-Level course in Health & Social Care. This gives the young people real life, hands-on experience in homecare and hopefully, when the students eventually enter the world of employment they will consider a career in homecare with Caremark Kirklees.

We also have a partnership with the University of Huddersfield which, in the past, has led to students studying their Masters spending time with us to also gain some real-life experience.
