Supporting a long-running community initiative

Christmas has come early for 40 of our customers who are among over 2,000 people to receive presents as part of a long-running community initiative.
This is the ninth year we have worked with Santa Senior’s, a project originally set by Suzanne Garraghan and her two daughters Amy and Lizzie to collect, wrap and distribute gifts to older and vulnerable people who face spending Christmas alone.
Each year, we select 40 different Caremark customers to receive gifts, with our Care Assistants playing the role of Father Christmas when they visit for their regular homecare calls.
Each customer receives three presents each and among those receiving them this year were John Burdett and George Hookway.

A former customer of Caremark also received a gift
We also took a present to a former customer, Linda Cartwright who thankfully no longer needs our services due to a massive improvement in her health, saying Caremark played a part in her recovery.
This is Suzanne, Amy and Lizzie’s last year before they pass the Santa’s Seniors torch over to another local lady, Diane.

2026 will be Caremark’s 10th year of supporting Santa Senior’s
Caremark Kirklees Director Fiona Smith, who has been helping to deliver some of the gifts, said: “We always look forward to this time of the year and seeing the smiles on our customers’ faces when we deliver the presents.
“Suzanne, Amy and Lizzie have done an amazing job over the last nine years and we are delighted that Santa’s Seniors is going to continue under Diane in 2026, which will also be the 10th year we have been part of it.”
