Thousands of children and teachers across the world have Irene Farmer to thank for the education and training they have received.

That’s because during her working life, Irene was a schoolteacher, as well as a teacher trainer.

And with not one but two PhDs, it’s fair to say that both children and teachers were learning from the best!

Irene worked in the UK and Australia during her career, so she has had an amazing impact on a great  many people, and now, in retirement, she lives at home with the support of Caremark Kirklees and her caring neighbours and friends.

Irene says: “The carers who come to me are all lovely and I am grateful for the support they give me each day. They even take care of my beautiful black rescue cat, Holly.”
