Yomi scaled

Experience of receiving care when he was young provided the inspiration for Yomi Eletu to set up his own homecare business.

He set up Caremark Doncaster in 2022 having decided that after working for 13 years in IT, his real passion lies in care.

Yomi’s story begins in his native Nigeria. He was diagnosed with sickle cell anaemia as a child and struggled so much with his health he was told he may not live to the age of 21.

He defied these predictions, thankfully, but the memories of his childhood still resonate with him today.

“I often got so ill that I couldn’t do anything for myself so I would need personal care,” he explains.

“That means I saw the difference between good and bad care and since setting up Caremark Doncaster I have been totally focused on ensuring the care we provide is of the very highest quality.”

With support from Caremark’s national network, and with a highly experienced Care Manager and Care Coordinator working alongside him, Yomi has set a target of growing his business in the coming years.

“We want to help as many people as possible to remain in the own homes and live as independently as they can,” he adds.

“My dream is to support 200 customers, provide more job opportunities for local people and really make our mark when it comes to delivering care.

“It’s an ambitious target but I like a challenge and I am very confident about what lies on the road ahead.”

Outside of work, Yomi enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children.

“I have a wife to die for and kids to live for,” he adds.
