Embracing Differences, Celebrating Uniqueness

Every year, on March 21st, we unite to observe World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), a global day of awareness dedicated to advocating for the rights, inclusion, and well-being of individuals with Down syndrome. The date, 3/21, was selected to represent the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome that leads to Down syndrome.

This day provides a chance to highlight the remarkable abilities and contributions of individuals with Down syndrome, while also increasing awareness of the challenges they face. World Down Syndrome Day reminds us that, although people with Down syndrome may learn and develop in unique ways, they share the same desire as anyone else to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.
