Natural Carer, yes you are, Carer of the Month, yes you are

Shama Akhtar we salute you and proud to award you with Carer of the Moment. For the 8 years you have supported our community, we thought we couldn’t be surprised anymore by your love for work and customers, but you go and do it again. We really do not know where to start when it comes to expressing our gratitude for everything you consistently do for the customers and team. Let me share just a few stories that have come to light.

During these pandemic times our customer W Pope’s family were unable to meet him on his birthday. This is always a time that would be nice to spend time with friends and family. When Shama heard he was able to see family or friends she took it upon herself to take him out for a birthday lunch. This brightened his day and he couldn’t stop smiling all day.

We also learnt that Shama would visit and put flowers on the grave of our customers that had past away. She would do this in her own time and we were all unaware until now. Shama is very popular with everyone and would always go out of her way to help all our customers and the team. We could go on and on with her acts of kindness.

We are overjoyed to have you as part of our team, a role model and inspiration to all carers. From all your customers and Caremark team, thank you and well done we continue to look forward to our time together….. #StrongerTogether
