RED Weather Warning! Stay Safe…
For the first time temperatures of 40°C have been forecast in the UK and the Met Office has issued the first ever Red warning for exceptional heat.
Exceptional heat is expected to affect a large part of England early next week, with temperatures likely in the high 30s C in some places and perhaps even reaching 40°C.
Our management team have spoken to every single one of our Support Workers over the course of today to remind them that when they are working on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday of this week/early next , to remain safe throughout this rare period of very hot weather.
Our Staff and Clients should ensure they remain hydrated at all times, stay out of the heat of the sun between 11am and 3pm, this is when the sun is at its highest and the most likely you will be to burn. Stay in the shade where possible, wear sunscreen if you do need to go outside and wear a hat/sunglasses wherever you can.
Regarding PPE, please note that staff may need to need to change their face masks more frequently than normal due to sweat and the need to take more frequent breaks to drink.
If any of our staff or Client’s have any concerns, please feel free to contact one of our Case Leaders on their mobile number or call our Office on 01709 789340.
