At Caremark Rotherham & Sheffield we provide community support to children and young adults who live within their own home. The support we provide is tailored around the specific Complex care needs of our clients.

All Support Workers are fully trained, mentored and guided to ensure excellence is delivered and our clients receive consistent support by their team of regular Support Workers.

It is really important within this role to be able to communicate and build professional relationships with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals.

About the Role:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Female Support Worker’s with previous Support Worker experience to join our specialised team supporting our client within the S5 area of Sheffield. Our client is a teenage girl with complex health needs which also includes tracheostomy care and specialised feeding technique support throughout the night.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in a young person’s life by providing both clinical care and daily living activity support in her own home during the night working within the hours of 10pm-10am.

 (This role requires the successful applicant to be aware of the importance of our clients’ clinical needs which requires the Support Worker to remain awake throughout the night shift observing, monitoring and recording all intervention and presentation of our client.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe and confident care for a young female with a tracheostomy, including suctioning, humidification, PEJ feeding and emergency management if needed (full training provided).
  • Monitor her wellbeing and assist with other aspects of health and her personal care.
  • Offer emotional and social support, helping her to maintain routines, interests, and independence.
  • Work closely with her family, clinical team, and other support workers to deliver consistent care.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow care plans and risk assessments.

About You:

  • Female applicants only (Exempt under the Equality Act 2010 – Schedule 9, Part 1)
  • Experience with tracheostomy care is desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Must be calm, attentive, and reliable with a caring nature.
  • Ability to work night shifts
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) required.
  • Good communication skills and a team-player mindset.
