Female Community Support Worker
At Caremark Rotherham & Sheffield we provide community support to children and young adults who live within their own home. The support we provide is tailored around the specific Complex care needs of our clients.
All Support Workers are fully trained, mentored and guided to ensure excellence is delivered and our clients receive consistent support by their team of regular Support Workers.
It is really important within this role to be able to communicate and build professional relationships with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals.
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable female support worker with a vehicle and business insurance to support and accompany a young adult female client in the community who lives in the S36 area of Sheffield.
This role involves assisting the client in attending appointments, engaging in social and leisure activities, and promoting independence and confidence within the community. The ideal candidate will be friendly, patient, and have experience supporting individuals with additional needs or disabilities (experience is a bonus, not a requirement).
Responsibilities:
- Provide transport and accompany the client to community-based activities (e.g., social outings, appointments, shopping, etc.)
- Encourage and promote independence
- Build a positive and trusting relationship
- Ensure client’s safety and wellbeing at all times
- Maintain confidentiality and clear communication with the client’s family or care team
Requirements:
- Female support worker (Genuine Occupational Requirement under Equality Act 2010)
- Full UK driving licence
- Own vehicle with business insurance
- DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and proactive
About you:
- Female applicants only (Exempt under the Equality Act 2010 – Schedule 9, Part 1)
- Able to drive, have a vehicle and business insurance
- Must be calm, attentive, and reliable with a caring nature.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) required.
- Good communication skills and a team-player mindset.
