Memory Walk – Join team Caremark Elmbridge
Caremark Elmbridge Team Joins Forces to Support Clients with Dementia and Alzheimer’s in Memory Walk on Saturday 13/09/2024, Painshill, Cobham, Surrey.
This year, the Caremark Elmbridge team proudly participates in the Memory Walk, a heartwarming event to raise awareness and funds for individuals affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s. The team came together not only as a show of solidarity but also as a reminder of their continued commitment to offering compassionate care and support to clients facing mental health challenges.
The Memory Walk, an annual event organized by the Alzheimer’s Society, brings together people from all walks of life to walk in memory of those affected by dementia. It provides a space for communities to unite in their shared determination to support individuals and families grappling with the realities of this debilitating condition.
At Caremark Elmbridge, caring for clients with dementia and Alzheimer’s is at the very heart of what we do. Our team works tirelessly to provide person-centered care that respects the dignity and independence of each client. Participating in the Memory Walk not only aligned with our mission but also serves as a reminder of how crucial it is to advocate for better understanding and support for those living with these cognitive disorders.
In the UK, over 850,000 people are living with dementia, and the number continues to rise. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia, leading to a range of symptoms, including memory loss, confusion, and changes in mood and behaviour. For many families, the journey can be overwhelming. The Caremark team understands these challenges and strives to create an environment where both clients and their loved ones feel supported.
Mental health, particularly cognitive health, remains an area that needs more open discussion. Disorders like dementia are often misunderstood or stigmatized, which can leave individuals and their families feeling isolated. This is why events like the Memory Walk are so crucial—we provide an opportunity to spark meaningful conversations around mental health.
For individuals with dementia, maintaining mental wellness can be a daily battle. The team at Caremark Elmbridge understands that dementia is not just about memory loss—it affects the whole person, including their emotional and psychological well-being. The compassionate care provided by Caremark ensures that clients are treated with kindness, patience, and respect, helping them maintain a sense of self-worth and connection with the world around them.
