Asha and Justina are a great double act

Despite coming from different continents, Asha Sanju and Justina Egobkodo have formed a great double act at Caremark Doncaster – demonstrating that there are no borders when it comes to being a great Care Assistant.
Asha and Justina are two of the carers who regularly visit Michael Steeper, a terminally man who recently was the recipient of the Caremark Care for a Wish initiative which resulted in him having his own private Oasis themed concert and party.
Michael’s mum Sue was fulsome in her praise for Asha and Justina, saying Michael looks forward to seeing them and how the pair are now regarded as part of their family.
They have become a part of our family
Asha came to Caremark from her native India where she was a Nurse, so whilst she had to adapt to new country and culture, care was something which came naturally to her.
“It definitely helps having a background in nursing because I understand people and their individual needs,” she says.
“I really enjoy working for Caremark and have had great support from Alison, our Care Manager. She has taught me a lot.”
A big emphasis on caring for older members of the community
Justina ran her own business in Nigeria but is happily settled in the UK with her husband and children.
While she hadn’t experienced professional care before, in her home country there is a big emphasis on caring for older members of the community.
“It was a bit daunting when I first went into someone’s home but you soon get used to it and the customers are always lovely and realise you are there to help them, “Justina says.
“I love my job and it has helped me to make new friends like Asha and meet lovely customers like Michael and his family.”
