Aramide and Obafemi Odele’s story of how they met, fell in love, married, and then started a business together would make a great romantic Hollywood movie.

Boy and Girl meet. Boy and Girl fall in love. Boy and Girl are separated due to work in different continents. Boy and Girl reunite, marry, have children (shortly anyway), and launch a new business together!

Now, who wouldn’t want to watch that particular movie?

Though students at different colleges in their native Nigeria, the couple originally met for one day whilst Obafemi was visiting Aramide’s college.

Years later, Aramide who had already finished her law school and had been called to the Bar and enrolled at the Supreme Court of Nigeria as a barrister and solicitor, had plans to go to law school in the USA whilst Obafemi was headed to the UK to become a management consultant.

However, they never forgot the day they spent together and six years later they reconnected through the help of a mutual friend and a transatlantic relationship developed over the phone and video call.

Aramide ultimately decided law wasn’t for her and was working in the health and social care sector in Baltimore. Obafemi also had a career change of heart and by now was working in IT.

Eventually, tired of being separated by the Atlantic Ocean, Obafemi went to the USA and asked Aramide to marry him in front of her family and friends. Aramide then moved to the UK to be with Obafemi.

Given Aramide’s experience in care, she was keen to continue this in the UK and in 2022 they acquired the franchise for Caremark Chesterfield and Bolsover.

Securing their CQC licence toward the end of 2023, they are hopeful that 2024 will be a big year for them in many ways as they attract new customers and carers and will also be welcoming some new members to the family; Aramide is expecting.

The couple say: “We have a friend who runs a Caremark franchise close to us and he recommended the company to us, so we were delighted to be able to open our own here in Chesterfield and Bolsover.

“We are now focused on delivering a high-quality home care support service in our area and looking forward to welcoming new customers and carers throughout 2024.”
