Caremark Cheltenham and Gloucester customer wins Care For a Wish 2025 award
This year, Caremark are celebrating 20 years of improving lives! To celebrate this, we decided to grant 20 wishes to 20 customers across the UK. An initiative we have called ‘Care For a Wish 2025’.
What is Care For a Wish 2025?
The customer was nominated by either their care assistants, families, or friends etc. Once nominated, they were in with a chance of having their wish granted by us at Caremark’s Franchise Support Centre.
The maximum budget per customer per wish was £1,000 and Caremark awarded 4 wishes per region. It could have been a trip to their favourite restaurant for 4 people, or a day out to the seaside/opera/theatre/concert/spa. Or something they would like sorting out at home. For example, like some new plants for the garden, or for their bedroom to be redecorated. Caremark agreed not only to fund it but also to make it happen! We are so proud of the Care for a Wish 2025 initiative.
Our Customer’s Care for A Wish 2025
“I would love to get the chance for one last visit to Uphill Beach near Weston Super Mare and be able to smell the sea and feel the sun again. Myself and my husband visited this regularly with our dogs, when I was healthier.
I was 18 when I was diagnosed with Friedrichs Ataxia along with my 2 other sisters. I met my husband when I was 22 years old and we decided not to have children due to this being hereditary mainly through girls. We would have loved to have had children. Over time I have become progressively worse, losing my sight, affecting speech and mobility. I am now in a wheelchair and Paul my husband is my primary carer along with the help of Caremark. I have 3 calls per day. This also supports Paul. So I would love to have that one last chance to go with Paul. Back to a place we both loved and was our happy place.”
What the Care for a Wish 2025 means to our customer
Here is Rachel, one of our Field Care Supervisors, giving the award to our much deserving customer.
When we visited our customer and her husband last week to share the news, it was such a special moment. She was so overwhelmed with joy that she cried. She then asked, “Is there anyone else who deserves this more than me?”. It was a beautiful reminder of just how kind, caring, and deserving this customer truly is.
What will they do?
By winning one of the Care for a Wish 2025 prizes, our customer and husband plan to visit Uphill Beach near Weston Super Mare in September. One of our carers will have to attend so hopefully we will have some photos to share after their visit. They are also planning a visit to the fish and chip shop. No visit to the seaside should be without fish and chips of course!
