Experiencing what dementia might be like…
“I have always wondered what it’s like to have dementia, the Virtual Dementia Tour gave me an opportunity to briefly walk into their world. It felt scary, isolating and confusing but opened my eyes to what we need to do to potentially keep them (customers with dementia) at home longer and improve their care“, said Herkesh.
It is vital that we continually improve the quality of training and start to focus on what dementia is like for the person rather than just the care giver.
The Virtual Dementia Tour is medically and scientifically proven to be the closest that we can give a person with a healthy brain an experience of what dementia might be like. By understanding dementia from the person’s point of view we can change practice, reduce issues and improve their lives.
