Caremark Supporting Breast cancer awareness month
Caremark Hammersmith & Fulham is supporting Breast Cancer Now this year, to raise awareness and contribute to life-changing breast cancer research and support.
Breast cancer it is a scary thought and too many women assume that it won’t happen to them. The fact is though, every ten minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK. So during breast cancer awareness month go for a medical checkup or urge loved ones to go for a medical check-up, it might save lives.
Signs of breast cancer?
Early signs of breast cancer can be a lump in a breast, a painful breast or armpit, or even discharge from the nipple. Even if none of these symptoms present themselves, you should visit your local GP/ doctor. A doctor will most likely perform a manual examination and refer you for a mammogram. A mammogram is a painless examination and only takes about ten minutes. In plenty of instances, pain or a lump in a breast can be perfectly harmless. The pain can be a sign of a cyst or the lump can be benign. It’s always better to be sure though.
