Great British Franchisee Award

Ensuring people could continue receiving care in their own homes throughout the Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in Caremark Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Managing Director Mike Folkes receiving national acclaim for the success he has achieved with the company. Mike Folkes was one of only 11 people in the UK recognised for outstanding business performance in the 2022 Great British Franchisee Awards.

Mike opened his Caremark Cheltenham and Tewkesbury business in 2018. This business has grown to the point where it now employs over 50 people and provides home care services to many customers across the area.

The Cheltenham-headquartered business faced significant challenges due to Covid-19. However, its staff worked throughout the whole of the pandemic. Thus ensuring people could remain in their own homes, which reduced the burden on the already stretched NHS.

Mike, who has been ably supported by his partner Jo who joined the business as Care Manager in 2019, said: “It’s an honour to be recognised in this way but whilst my name is on the award, the credit should go to everyone who has played their part in the growth of Caremark.

“Our home care assistants and head office staff have done an incredible job, especially during the very difficult and highly challenging last two years.

“They have been on the front-line from day one and have never wavered in their drive to ensure people, many of whom are old and vulnerable, could continue receiving the support they need to remain living as independently as possible at home.”

The Great British Franchisee Awards recognise franchisees’ exceptional performance and business experience. In addition, its ability to drive business growth, staff retention, customer satisfaction, community involvement, inspired leadership, and franchise involvement.
