Carer Team of the Month July 2025
Caremark Cheltenham and Gloucester announce their Carer Team of the Month for July 2025. Each month we award a member of staff or a team for outstanding work. The award recognises work carried out by our carers which goes above and beyond. This month the award went to Sara, Shumie, Truth, Jixy, Gagendeep and Tina.
When Home Changes – how our carer team of the month July 2025 supported a customer
Change is hard for many of us, but for individuals living with complex care needs, it can feel overwhelming. Recently, one of our customers needed to leave her home and move temporarily into a hotel. We knew how distressing and hard this would be for her. Therefore, one of our carer teams came together to ensure she felt supported, safe, and cared for.
About our customer
Our customer lives with complex care needs and relies on the comfort of her home to feel safe and secure. When she was realised that she needed to leave her home and move into a hotel so that her bathroom could be remodelled to better suit her needs, she understandably felt worried and distressed. How was she going to cope being in a hotel, an unfamiliar place, not the environment she knew, whilst still requiring essential daily care provided for by our carers?
From the start, our priority was to maintain continuity and familiarity for our customer during this short period of time. Also to assure her that although her surroundings would change, the carers she trusted would continue visiting her every day.
Our Carer Team of the Month July 2025
Our wonderful team of dedicated carers, Sara, Shumie, Truth, Jixy, Gagandeep and Tina continued to provide care at the hotel where she was staying. This means that all her care needs were satisfied. This customer was so grateful to all the carers that she sent a lovely card thanking everyone who had been involved. She knows it wasn’t easy and was so glad that all the carers were there to support her

This experience was a reminder that “home” is not always a place. It can also be the consistent, caring support that helps individuals feel safe wherever they are.
