Caremark Cheltenham and Tewksbury were awarded a regional award at the prestigious Caremark annual conference on 27th January held at Silverstone, the home of British Motor Racing.
The regional awards recognise franchise owners which have grown their businesses in their respected region.
When presenting the award, Regional Support Manager Orla Mulholland said franchise owners Mike and Jo Folkes have been very proactive in building the services within their community. They have established great working relationships with their local authority as well as a dynamic approach to staff recruitment. For example, they have gained their international sponsorship license to promote their workforce to support the demand of care required. Mike said valuing our people is our top priority, finding and supporting great people is the key to building a business in the care sector. If you don’t value people, the business will go nowhere. Mike has invested personally to support the health and well- being of all employees.
Further to the above they have developed their training room to include more practical based assessments areas to ensure staff feel confident and competent before embarking on their journey in the community. Their trainer Jenny has adapted the training to suit all individual needs to ensure the safe delivery of care is understood by all. Mike and Jo are engaging with both their Regional Support Manager and Quality Manager to ensure their growth and compliance continues and to maintain appropriate standards and ratings with the view to achieving an outstanding rating with the Care Quality Commission.
Jo said “We were so delighted and proud to have won this prestigious award, This is a recognition to our wonderful team and the amazing people we work with every day.”
Mike added “I am particularly grateful to have received this award, this is a huge honor to collect this award on behalf of the team, back at Cheltenham.”
