VE Day anniversary celebrations

We were delighted to be able to sponsor VE Day anniversary celebrations in our community.

The event, at Tickhill Methodist Church, was part of the partnership we have formed with Methodist Homes Association and which started in 2024 when we sponsored a Christmas party for people who attend a weekly luncheon club.

This time, our sponsorship helped to run an event marking the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe. This included a meal and dessert from the period, music from the likes of Vera Lynn and a World War Two quiz.

And, as you can see from the photographs, the hall was festooned with Union Jack flags and the people who attended wore Union Jack bowler hats.

It was a lovely afternoon which everyone enjoyed and we are pleased to have been part of such a wonderful event.

We’re always keen to give something back to the communities in which we work and this is a great example.
