Caremark delivers chemo survival kits to kids with cancer
Caremark, (Sutton, Epsom and Ewell and Reigate and Banstead), is partnering with the Royal Marsden in Sutton to deliver bags of goodies to help ease the burden of families caring for children and teenagers with cancer.
The initiative is part of our wider plan to provide care and kindness to people of all ages and circumstances across our community. We believe we are stronger together!
Called Chemo Survival kits the bags include items such as toys, books, cozy socks and creams to help with dry skin that can be a side effect of chemotherapy.
The bags are being funded by Caremark and through a crowd funding page. The page exceeded its target 300% in just one week. Huge thanks to everybody who contributed
Hannah Drury, managing director of Caremark (Sutton, Epsom and Ewell and Reigate and Banstead, says: “I know from personal experience how hard it is to care for a young person with cancer. It can be isolating and life can feel so unfair.
“We want to do something that shows we care.”
“My baby sister Chloe was treated at the Marsden for cancer. I will never forget how kind friends and strangers were to us. We want to give that kindness back to others.”
Caremark, Sutton, Epsom and Ewell and Reigate and Banstead, is committed to working together with the local community to improve social wellbeing.
We run dementia cafes, tea and cake pop-ins, dog therapy, chair yoga and upcoming dates for healthy ageing talks.
