Jessica on her Jollies
Jessica is 23 years of age, she has a diagnosis of Epilepsy and Schizoaffective disorder, she attends College studying an environmental course and also studying work skills. Jessica has been supported by Caremark since September 2019 and has benefited from having regular and consistent support workers to assist her to college 3 days per week.
Jessica can sometimes show signs of personality changes due to her schizoaffective disorder, which is why it is important that Jessica has consistent support from support workers who know her well.
Last month, Jessica’s college class were organized to attend a 3-day residential trip, to Edale. Caremark were asked if it could be arranged for a support worker to attend the full college trip with Jessica, to provide one to one companionship throughout the trip to enable Jessica to feel more confident and to give her the reassurance that she had someone around her who is able to deal with her medical needs as and when needed. Our team were able to organize this and enabled Kathryn, Jess’s regular support worker to attend the full trip with her.

We love to know that we are helping our customers to live a full and ordinary life, just like any other individual would, we really do appreciate all of the hard work and commitment that our support workers and our management team put in to ensure we are helping our customers reach their full potential.
Well done to Jessica for embracing the full 3 day residential trip, and well done/Thank You to Kathryn for taking 3 days out of her own life to support Jessica with this trip, we are really proud of you both!
