We held our first Coffee and Cake free community event on 27 March 2024. Caremark’s aim for these events is to bring people together for companionship, games, and of course cake! We also aim to support the communities that we serve!
We invited all our clients (and anybody else who wanted to come) to this event.
So if you have a loved one that would enjoy some companionship, keep your eyes peeled for our next event.
Loneliness in older people is a common issue that can have significant impacts on their physical and mental well-being. In Gloucestershire, like many other areas, older individuals can experience loneliness due to factors such as isolation, loss of friends or family members, health issues that limit their social interactions, lack of transportation, or living alone.
Here’s what happened on 27 March
Doreen, a local resident from Northway, joined us for a morning of coffee, cake, companionship and games! She couldn’t believe her luck as she won the full house bingo prize of a Caremark mug and Easter egg. She was absolutely thrilled and promised to come to our next event.
Roger, another resident of Northway and a much-loved client of Caremark, introduced the Caremark Team to ‘Roger’s Rules’ which guaranteed his winning at scrabble each time.
Local resident Marlene bought her sister Phyllis all the way to Tewkesbury from London via National Express to enjoy coffee, cake and a natter! Phyliss, who also won on the bingo, donated her winning Easter Eggs to the local Northway Pantry.
Amy and Dawn, the new Team Leaders at Caremark, meeting Harold for the first time. As you can see, Harold is over the moon to see them both. He met them both during a quality visit where he told us he was very happy with the care being provided by Caremark.
