We provide a bespoke service, tailored to match your specific needs and preferences as well as your budget. There is no real limit to the type of support we offer. From our discussion and other information about this location, we assess that you are managing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Infection control products: The service provides care to people in the community and supplies agency staff to support people in a residential home. There was a sufficient supply of PPE for staff. The service received assistance from the local authority to obtain PPE. If you run ESF Summary Record 5 out of PPE and the local authority are unable to help, you should contact the NHS PPE supply hotline 0800 915 9964 or email supplydisruptionservice@nhsbsa.nhs.uk Infection control procedures: The provider had robust infection control procedures to ensure cross-contamination was minimised. For example, staff were required to alternate between wearing two uniforms, so one could be cleaned and re-worn. Staffing levels: Staffing levels had not been affected. No staff were affected with symptoms. There was enough cover available to ensure people received the care they needed at home. However, at the time of the call the registered manager was self isolating at home. The nominated individual was covering and manging the service in her absence. Supporting staff: The management team reassured staff that they took their safety seriously. Staff were encouraged to provide a safe service. If staff had concerns or worries they could approach the managers. There is a new support app for social care workers that they can use to get additional personal support: https://workforce.adultsocialcare.uk/join Testing for COVID-19: The management team knew how to access the portal to arrange tests for care staff. They received regular updates from the parent company and networking organisations such as information commissioners and home care associations. Partnership working: The service worked well with external agencies and such as the local authority and with other providers. There was good communication between them. The nominated individual was experienced in the sector and was keen to develop and grow the service as it was only registered in February 2020. Manager support: The management team supported each other and there was effective communication between them and staff. For additional support and resources, Skills for Care have developed a support service for ASC registered managers. It offers free national training and support packages focused on COVID19 problems. It includes local networking opportunities for services and managers. You can find out about both at: www.skillsforcare.org.uk/Leadershipmanagement/support-for-registered-managers/support-for-registeredmanagers.aspx Quality assurance: The management team ensured the service was monitored at all times and carried out spot checks. They obtained feedback from people who used the service to check they were satisfied with the care they received and they were safe. Staff received continuous training and supervision, online and via phone calls. Safe care and treatment: Staff followed care plans and completed daily logs. They completed timesheets to record they had attended calls on time. This Emergency Support Framework assessment only reviewed your service's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We did not review any broader aspects of care and support provided.
Dear Matthew,

Having a disabled wife, I was finding it increasingly difficult to cope with running the home as well as looking after her. The Caremark B&D lady who does the heavy laundry and more recently more cleaning as well, has taken a great burden off my shoulders. Thank you Caremark B&D for your help and for the efficient and cheerful carer.
