Meet The Portsmouth and Havant Team
Home care, exactly as it should be
Everyone has a story worth knowing! The keen gardener, the brilliant cook, the dancer, the crossword fanatic, the one who loves a proper natter over tea. Who you are matters just as much as what you need. So, yes, we talk medications and mobility but we also talk about life: what brings joy, what feels comforting, what makes a day a good one.
Then we build your care around the answers.
Our team is chosen for character as much as skill – big hearts, great listening, a sense of humour, and a genuine desire to make a difference. The rest can be trained, which, by the way, we do extremely well.
We learn about the little things that make you, you. Because the little things aren’t little. They’re the difference between an okay day and a good one. And good days, strung together, make a good life.
Caremark Portsmouth & Havant. Proudly serving you and our local community.

Emma Scholes
Managing Director
My journey into home care is both professional and deeply personal. Having spent seven years working within the home care sector, most recently at Director level with Caremark Limited, I have had the privilege of witnessing first-hand the profound difference that truly exceptional care can make to people’s lives.
When my father suffered an acquired brain injury, our family found ourselves navigating a world filled with uncertainty, difficult decisions, and an overwhelming need to find people you can trust with someone you love.
For nearly seven years I helped and watched others improve lives in their communities. Now, I am making that happen in Portsmouth, Havant, and the surrounding areas.
Opening Caremark Portsmouth & Havant is my opportunity to take everything I have learned and pour it into building a service that is second to none.
My commitment is to provide care that is truly first-class. I believe that the quality of care starts with the quality of the people delivering it, which is why I am dedicated to recruiting only the very best and to invest genuinely in their development. When our carers feel valued, supported, and skilled, the people they care for benefit from consistency, confidence, and continuity, and it’s this that will make all the difference.

Keeley Laycock
Care Manager
I have over seven years’ experience working in the care sector, supporting people with a wide range of needs, including additional needs, learning disabilities and mental health needs.
I began my career in residential care, before moving into home care and community-based support. This experience has given me a real understanding and love of person-centred care and of supporting people in their own homes, where they feel most comfortable and independent. I have supported people with their everyday routines while promoting choice, wellbeing and independence, always ensuring that the support provided is right for the individual.
I thrive in supporting both customers and staff members, including carrying out compliance checks and providing support in the field. I have invaluable insight into both the operational and quality aspects of home care, whilst ensuring high standards are maintained. I never lose sight of the person behind the care plan.
I am passionate about care and take great pride in helping people live as independently as possible. I believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and compassion, and I particularly enjoy getting to know the people I support, understanding what matters to them and helping them achieve their personal goals.
For me, care is about much more than completing tasks. It is about building trusting relationships, listening, and helping people feel valued, confident and supported. I am proud to be part of a team that shares this commitment and to play a role in making a genuine difference to the lives of the people we care for in an around Portsmouth, Havant, Emsworth and Hayling Island.
