I have worked for Caremark (East Riding) since 2012, originally as a Care & Support Worker, I then progressed further to Field Care Supervisor for the Cottingham area. I thoroughly enjoyed the new challenges I faced and managing a loyal team was a pleasure. Since returning from maternity leave in August 2018, I have taken on the new role as a Care Co-ordinator for Cottingham. I feel I have a fantastic relationship with both my colleagues and the many clients we care for. My previous roles has most definitely excelled my level of understanding to which I have been able to transfer into my new role as a Care Co-ordinator. I really do feel proud to be a part of the Caremark team!

When I first started within the care industry in 2008 as a Care Support Worker, I felt like I had found "that" job and just fit straight in. I joined the Caremark team in 2016 as a Care Support Worker and soon progressed onto the deputy role, in June 2017 I was promoted to Field Care Supervisor. After managing my own area and getting to see the different aspects within care has given me the ambition to keep working my way up within the business. I thrive to ensure that my staff are looked after and the Service Users are getting the service they deserve.

I previously worked as a Customer Service Manager for 24 years but moved on to a new adventure in 2008 to volunteer at the East Hull Children’s Centre (Pickering and Newington Development) until 2016. I wanted to push my skills and knowledge further and joined a residential home as an Administration Officer which specialised in Mental Health, mainly schizophrenia. I feel as though my background has enabled me to support me in my role at Caremark. I fully understand the importunacy of having care plans being 100% Person-Centred and hope to give a clear vision to others who support.

Working originally as a Care Support Worker in 2015 was a role I thoroughly enjoyed and loved the fact that each day I was really making a difference to someone else’s life. My dedication and passion for my role was recognised and I was promoted to Deputy Manager to the Field Care Supervisor for the Cottingham area. I was in this post for around 8 months when I then became the Field Care Supervisor in June 2017. I love what I do and each day brings a new challenge, but with my skills and expertise I feel as though I am able to fully support not only my staff but my Service Users too.

I originally delivered 3 years’ service as a volunteer working for the Ambulance Response Team. This role really gave me an incite as to what support others were needing within the community. From that point is when I decided to try community work as a Care and Support Worker, which is when I joined Caremark in 2010. I loved every aspect of my role and found it very rewarding and decided to opt for the Deputy role 2016 to eventually managing my own area as Field Care Supervisor in Feb 2018. Over the years I have learnt so much about the care sector and with all my previous skills combined I believe that this benefits me supporting the Care and Support Workers and Service Users within my area.

Starting as a Care and Support Worker in February 2016, soon made me realise what role I wanted to do and what I had a real passion for which was to become a Field Care Supervisor. I was delighted when I was promoted to supervisor at the back end of 2016 managing the area where I was delivering care which made me instantly feel at ease by already knowing the area, the staff and the Service Users. I knew first-hand how I wanted to manage my area ensuring that everyone was respected and receiving the care they 100% deserve. I thoroughly enjoy my role as supervisor and I am incredibly proud of my team.

I first started within care in 2012 as a Care Assistant working with adults, shortly after I became a Support Worker with young adults who were living with Learning Disabilities, both of these jobs were in a residential setting down South. I moved to Hull in 2014 and started a new role working with Mental Health, again in a residential setting. I decided to open up my options trialling domiciliary care setting and gained experience as a Care Co-ordinator, I found this role challenging but very rewarding. After starting as a Care Support Worker with Caremark in June 2018, I was delighted to be promoted quickly to Care Co-ordinator in August. I feel proud of my team I support daily and look forward to continuing to provide excellent care to our Service Users.
Thanks to Carol, Dee, Penny & Katherine. who helped look after my dad, Mr JC. We really appreciate everything you have done for him, he always spoke fondly of you all. JC is now in a care home in Mansfield and really loving it.
Many Thanks
