Meet The Islington and The City Team

Francisca Charles-Nelson
Managing Director & Franchise Owner
My name is Francisca Charles-Nelson, and I am the Managing Director and franchise owner of Caremark Islington & City, providing strategic leadership to ensure safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led domiciliary care services.
My journey into care is shaped by lived experience and professional development. After raising my family, I completed a First-Class Honours LLB at Middlesex University, gaining a strong foundation in regulation, governance, safeguarding, and accountability. I remain actively involved in pro bono work and continue to volunteer at the St James Legal Advice Centre, supporting individuals and families to access ethical legal advice.
My background includes senior roles in local government and managing my own facilities company, strengthening my skills in compliance, quality assurance, staff leadership, and service improvement.
Caring for my parents during illness and recovery reinforced the importance of dignified, person-centred care and led to my long-term commitment to the care sector.
At Caremark Islington & City, I work closely with the Registered Care Manager to maintain robust systems, drive continuous improvement, and achieve positive outcomes, enabling people to live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own homes.

Sumayyah Aithsine
Care Manager
I’m Sumayyah, Care Manager at Caremark Islington & City, I have a strong background in operational management, care planning, compliance and team leadership across the private sector, NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) and Local Authority commissioned services.
I began my career working directly in the field as a care worker, I progressed through roles including field supervision and care coordination before moving into care management. Alongside my professional experience, I have also cared for a family member, which has given me a personal understanding of the importance of compassionate, reliable, and respectful care. This lived experience inspired my journey into the care sector and allows me to empathise with people who use our services, their families and care teams alike.
My experience spans community-based services, care homes, and hospital settings, where I have supported individuals with a wide range of complex health and social care needs. This includes involvement in Urgent Community Response pathways to support prompt interventions, reduce avoidable hospital admissions and promote independence. I have also coordinated care for individuals requiring specialist clinical support and those with learning disabilities, ensuring care is delivered safely and in line with best practice.
My approach to care management is person centred and collaborative. I value building strong relationships with people who use our services, their families, and professionals. I am committed to maintaining high standards, promoting dignity and respect, and ensuring care adapts to people’s changing needs.
