Complex Case Team Leader for Caremark Rotherham
Salary: Competitive Salary - Dependant on experience Hours: 20 - 30 hours per week, flexible hours
Caremark Rotherham is a Complex Care Service who provides support to vulnerable individuals within their own surroundings and within their community. Caremark Rotherham is currently supporting a young man at 16 years of age who as a result of a road traffic accident two years ago has an Acquired Brain Injury.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Team Leader with the ability to take the initiative and work autonomously as appropriate. The successful applicant will work as part of a supportive team and receive training and supervision as appropriate.
As Team Leader, our successful candidate should have previous team leading or supervisory experience along with a background of supporting individuals with complex needs, preferably individuals who have had acquired brain injuries or conditions that present similar behaviours. The primary elements of the role are to support, guide and develop our Care Assistants and to lead and supervise the team within the package (in our client’s home) in order to provide the best possible support to our client.
Our client has suffered serious life changing injuries, he attends school on a daily basis during the week, attends appointments to help rehabilitate him such as hydrotherapy and gym sessions. He lives at home in his adapted bungalow with his Mum and receives 24 hour support from two staff members at all times.
Our client requires support with all aspects of his care, including personal care, he transfers using equipment provided in the home and within his school premises, assisting with his eating and drinking and administering medication needs throughout the day. Our client’s interests are an important part of his daily routine – there are 2 friendly pet rats in the home, which our Team Leader may be expected to handle from time to time. It is important that the successful person is not be afraid of the pets. Our client also enjoys wrestling, Xbox, and YouTube – our Team Leader will be expected to get to know our client, be aware of his likes, dislikes and his behaviour patterns in order to point the care and support workers in the right direction, and to be able to provide the best possible support. They will be pivotal in the design of care options and will contribute in meetings with professionals.
The Team Leader will be expected to provide guidance, support and advice to the existing staff team when it is needed. They will be expected to stimulate our client and encourage him with his daily routines and social activities.
The Team Leader will conduct daily, weekly and monthly review meetings with the support workers such as:
- Spot checks
- Medication Observations
- Moving and Handling Observations
- Team Meetings
- Care and Support Review meetings
- Quality Assurance checks
- Care Plan Updates
- Medication Reviews
Here at Caremark Rotherham we have a fully developed management and supervisory team to tap in to for advice, and guidance. We also employ a Registered Paediatric Nurse, who is available to provide training, advice and guidance.
