Children's Care and Support Worker for Caremark Rotherham

Salary: £8.60 per hour, Enhanced bank holiday rate      Hours: Part Time Hours

Caremark Rotherham are a company who provide care and support for children and young adults in their own homes/surroundings and within the community.

We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced care and support worker to provide support to a young 17 year old  boy who has Autism and Epilepsy.

We are looking for someone who is experienced with dealing with a child with Autism and Epilepsy, and someone who can get to know our client well enough to be able to build a good relationship, enabling the young man to be able to access the community and have more social experiences.

You would be responsible for meeting the support requirements of our younger clients, in a way that respects the individual and promotes their independence. You would be expected to travel to the client’s home and assist them with daily tasks as agreed between the client and Caremark.

The type of support that you would be providing is no different to what would reasonably be given by a member of the person’s family. For instance, you may be providing help with bathing and dressing or domestic support.

Principal Responsibilities

Your role would include helping clients with tasks such as:

  •     Help with washing & dressing
  •     Shopping & meal preparation
  •     Prompting with medication
  •     Support with daily routines
  •     Respite services
  •     Socialising and leisure activities
  •     Helping clients access the community

Additional Information:

We are looking for a Care and Support Worker to join us who can commit to providing consistent support for this young man on a daily basis.

The hours we are looking for Monday - Friday Term Time:

2 hours support AM 06:30 - 08:30 (to support with getting up out of bed, personal cares, administering medication, support with breakfast and feeding)

2 hours support PM 20:00 - 22:00 (to support with bath time routine, personal cares, administering medication and support in to bed)

During the school holidays there will be an opportunity to provide companionship for 8 hours per week. This may involve taking the young man out in to the community and using public transport.
