What our Customers say About Us

Most people don’t search for care until something forces them to.

A fall on the stairs. A hospital discharge with 48 hours’ notice. A diagnosis that changes what next month looks like. Or just the slow realisation that Dad isn’t managing on his own any more, and nobody in the family has said it out loud yet.

Whatever brought you here, you’re probably making this decision faster than you’d like, with less information than you’d want.

So here’s the short version. We’re a local team, based in Worthing, employing 70 carers who live in and around Worthing and Adur. We’re regulated by the CQC. We’ll come to the house, listen properly, and give you an honest answer — including “we’re not the right fit for this” if that’s the truth.

    From a 30-minute check-in to full live-in care

Whatever level of support your loved one needs — and however that changes over the months ahead — we can adjust around it. Every plan starts with a free home visit.

    Personal care at home

Help with washing, dressing, continence, medication and getting safely in and out of bed. Delivered by a carer who knows the routine, respects the privacy, and doesn’t rush. Personal care in Worthing starts from a 30-minute visit.

    Home care visits

From one morning call to four visits a day. Meals, mobility, prompts, shopping,
laundry and simple company. The kind of care at home in Worthing that keeps
someone independent in the house they know.

    Live-in & 24-hour care

A trained carer lives in the home full-time, so there’s always someone there for peace of mind. Live-in care is the realistic alternative to a care home, and it usually costs less than one.

    Dementia & Alzheimer’s care

Carers trained to work with routine rather than against it — reducing the confusion,
agitation and sundowning that make evenings hard. We support the person living with dementia, and we support the family around them.

    Overnight & waking-night care

Sleeping nights for reassurance, waking nights for people who need repositioning, toileting or medication through the night.

    Respite & short-term care

Cover so a family carer can have a holiday, an operation, or simply a week off before they burn out. A few days to several weeks, arranged around you.

A short daily visit from a familiar face. Someone to check that they’re feeling well, taking their medication, eating properly, and having someone to talk to each day.
It’s the lowest-commitment way to start — and for a lot of families, it’s the
thing that stops a small problem becoming a hospital admission.

Five things you’ll notice in the first fortnight

    1.

The initial assessment is free, and it’s a care assessor, not a salesperson

    Plenty of
agencies charge for an assessment. We don’t. Someone from our office comes to the
house, sits down, and works out what’s actually needed. If we can’t deliver it well, we’ll
say so and point you somewhere that can.

    2.

Your familiar care assistants, not a different face every day

This is the single thing families
tell us matters most. We permanently allocate carers to customers wherever we can, with a named backup for holidays and sickness — so your mum knows who’s walking through the door, and so do you.

    3.

Carers who’ve been here for years

Our Registered Manager started here as a Care
Assistant in 2010. Our deputy manager joined in 2016. Our senior field supervisor arrived in 2013. Low turnover isn’t a marketing line — it’s the reason continuity is
    possible at all.

    4.

A local office you can actually walk into

75 Richmond Road, Worthing. Not a call
centre in another county. When you ring during office hours, you get someone who
knows the round, knows the carer, and can do something about it.

    5.

Trained for the condition, not just the task.

Dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke recovery, MS, learning disabilities, sensory impairment, palliative and end-of-life care. Tell us the diagnosis, and we’ll match a carer who has worked with it before.

One conversation usually clears up more than an evening of googling.

Trained for the specific thing that brought you here

Most people who call us are looking for someone who has done this before — with this condition, at this stage. Our carers are trained and experienced in:

Not listed? Ring us anyway — 01903 232949. We’d rather tell you honestly whether we can help than have you guess.

What care at home in Worthing actually costs

We’re not the cheapest home care provider in Worthing, and we’re not going to pretend otherwise. Our carers are paid properly, trained thoroughly and stay with us for years — and that’s precisely why continuity is possible.

The honest answer is that the final figure depends on how much support is needed and how often. We’ll walk you through the real numbers at the free home visit, with nothing to sign at the end of it.

The questions families in Worthing ask us most

Ring us and we’ll usually arrange the free home visit within a couple of working days. How fast care itself begins depends on the package — a daily personal care call is quicker to set up than a full live-in placement. If you’re facing a hospital discharge, say so on the call and we’ll tell you honestly what we can do and by when.

Home care visits start from £31.19 per hour and live-in care from £1,950 per week. What you’ll actually pay depends on how many visits, how long, and how complex the support is. The home assessment that gives you an exact figure is free.

Wherever possible, yes. We permanently allocate carers to customers and arrange a named backup for holidays and sickness. It’s the thing families tell us matters most, and it’s the reason we work hard on staff retention.

Personal care means hands-on support with washing, dressing, continence, medication and mobility — regulated activity, which is why our carers are trained and enhanced-DBS checked for it. A home care visit can include personal care, or it can be practical help and company: meals, laundry, shopping, a chat. Most of our customers have a mix.

Often, yes — particularly for couples, where one live-in carer can support two people for roughly the price of one care home place. Live-in care also means staying in a familiar house, keeping the pet, and keeping the routine. We’ll be straight with you at the assessment about
      which option makes more sense.

No long-term tie-in. Families typically pay weekly and can increase, reduce or pause hours with reasonable notice. [Confirm exact notice period with the office.]

Yes. Caremark Worthing & Adur is registered with the Care Quality Commission, rated Good overall, and you can read the full report on the CQC website. Every carer holds an enhanced DBS check and completes Caremark’s training programme before working unsupervised.

Possibly. We accept Direct Payments, Local Authority funding and NHS-contracted packages, and many families are eligible for
Attendance Allowance or an NHS Continuing Healthcare assessment. Ask us at the free visit — we’ll tell you where to look, whether or not you end up choosing us.

Worthing, Goring-by-Sea, Durrington, Tarring, Ferring, Lancing, Sompting, Shoreham-by-Sea and Southwick. If you’re just outside, ring
      anyway — 01903 232949.

You don’t need to have decided anything. Tell us what’s happening, and we’ll
tell you honestly what we’d suggest — even if that suggestion isn’t us.
