John Thomson

Managing Director

Having joined the NHS shortly after leaving school in 1985, most of my career has continued in health and social care, eventually progressing to senior management level. My 40-year experience has been gained across a range of sectors including the NHS, the private and voluntary sectors, as well as working in the military as a Nursing Officer.

What has brough me to Caremark, well having recently struggled to find suitable quality domiciliary care for family members, my late partner agreed with me that a simple solution would be to start our own care at home company, where quality and a person-centred approach would be our only standards. Our aim is to be able to provide this quality care no matter whether it is a private paying or a local authority client, as everyone should be eligible to receive the highest standards of care. I want Caremark to be the go-to place that people want to be part of, whether that be staff of clients.

Away from work, I also run a Scotland wide resilience charity, love boating and I also play golf, albeit badly. However, my cat and dog are the ones that really control my life, routinely waking me up each morning demanding to be pampered long before my alarm goes off.

Donna Wilson

Care Manager

Donna is our Care Manager here at Caremark Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire. Donna has worked in the care industry for over 10 years. Her passion for helping people enables her to thrive within the care industry. Donna is known for her kind and compassionate approach, her reliability and her hands on leadership style. Maintaining high standards of person-centred care and fostering a supportive, respectful environment for both clients and staff. Donna combines strategic thinking with empathy to ensure that both clients and staff feel respected, supported and empowered.

Donna enjoys spending time with family and friends and likes going on holidays. Her recent trip to Rome was amazing and been her best holiday so far.

Sara Watson

Field Care Supervisor

Sara is our Field Care Supervisor here at Caremark Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire. Sara has worked in the care industry for over 6 years. Working in many roles within the sector from Care Manager to Compliance Manager.

Sara has a passion for training and development. Sara enjoys mentoring carer assistants and providing support in delivering high quality care.

Sara has completed her HNC in social work, and is now completing her BA Hons in Health and Social Care.

Sara provides support for the care assistants as well as delivering the training in house.

Sara has commented that she is excited to be part of the team, and support all the care assistants joining the team. Nothing puts a smile on your face more than seeing your clients happy and your care assistants enjoying the care they are providing.

Sara enjoys spending time with her partner Rod and friends, including her kitten Brie. Sara is keen photographer and enjoys getting out and about and taking pictures of Scottish Landmarks in her spare time.
